DHL Canada Labour Action — What netParcel Customers Need to Know

As of June 8, 2025, DHL Express operations across Canada are being impacted by labour action related to an ongoing collective bargaining process between DHL and Unifor (the union representing DHL’s hourly employees and owner-operators).

While DHL has been negotiating in good faith to reach a new agreement, both DHL and Unifor have issued lockout and strike notices, which are now in effect. DHL has put contingency plans in place and is working to limit disruption; however, customers may experience delivery delays of 1–2 business days while this situation continues.

What this means for netParcel customers:
If you are currently shipping with DHL, please be aware of the potential for minor delays. We recommend factoring this into your planning and setting delivery expectations accordingly with your customers.

As always, netParcel provides access to multiple leading carriers. If uninterrupted service is critical for your business, you may wish to consider selecting an alternative carrier option in the meantime. Our platform makes it easy to compare rates and transit times across providers.

We will continue to monitor this situation closely and share any significant updates as they become available.

Thank you for your continued trust in netParcel.
